Your role as Head of Business Development

The Head of Business Development will take a strategic, hands-on leadership role in shaping the company's commercial trajectory. Reporting directly to the executive team, this individual will define the go-to-market approach, cultivate high-impact partnerships, and drive long-term growth across the US and global markets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Spearheading the go-to-market strategy, aligning commercial opportunities with scientific capabilities and product readiness

  • Identifying and securing strategic partnerships across pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, and academic sectors

  • Leading contract negotiations and overseeing the structuring of commercial agreements

  • Representing the company at major industry events, delivering compelling presentations and thought leadership

  • Monitoring sales pipeline and performance metrics, using data to inform strategy and decision-making

  • Building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing business development team

  • Collaborating closely with R&D, marketing, and product teams to ensure commercial and scientific goals are fully aligned


Experience and qualifications for the Head of Business Development role

Ideal candidates will bring a rare mix of industry credibility, commercial savvy, and a passion for scientific innovation. To be considered, candidates should have:

  • An advanced degree in business or science (or equivalent practical experience)

  • Deep experience in business development or strategic partnerships within the pharma, biotech, or medtech sectors

  • A strong understanding of the biomedical data ecosystem and R&D workflows in large pharma

  • Familiarity with AI, representation learning, or foundation models and their applications in life sciences

  • A proven track record of driving commercial growth and delivering impactful partnerships

  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Leadership experience with the ability to build and inspire cross-functional teams

  • A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment

Bonus experience (not required but advantageous):
