Your role as Head of Business Development
The Head of Business Development will take a strategic, hands-on leadership role in shaping the company's commercial trajectory. Reporting directly to the executive team, this individual will define the go-to-market approach, cultivate high-impact partnerships, and drive long-term growth across the US and global markets.
Key responsibilities include:
Spearheading the go-to-market strategy, aligning commercial opportunities with scientific capabilities and product readiness
Identifying and securing strategic partnerships across pharmaceutical, biotech, diagnostics, and academic sectors
Leading contract negotiations and overseeing the structuring of commercial agreements
Representing the company at major industry events, delivering compelling presentations and thought leadership
Monitoring sales pipeline and performance metrics, using data to inform strategy and decision-making
Building, mentoring, and scaling a high-performing business development team
Collaborating closely with R&D, marketing, and product teams to ensure commercial and scientific goals are fully aligned
Experience and qualifications for the Head of Business Development role
Ideal candidates will bring a rare mix of industry credibility, commercial savvy, and a passion for scientific innovation. To be considered, candidates should have:
An advanced degree in business or science (or equivalent practical experience)
Deep experience in business development or strategic partnerships within the pharma, biotech, or medtech sectors
A strong understanding of the biomedical data ecosystem and R&D workflows in large pharma
Familiarity with AI, representation learning, or foundation models and their applications in life sciences
A proven track record of driving commercial growth and delivering impactful partnerships
Exceptional stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills
Leadership experience with the ability to build and inspire cross-functional teams
A collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment
Bonus experience (not required but advantageous):
