Main Purpose of Role
*Be the Lead for a given set of ERP functionality, ensuring the configuration meets Steam (OPAL) ERP Design Principles and the integrity of that design is monitored on a regular basis.

Core Responsibilities and Duties (but not limited to)

*Maintaining ERP Technical Design
oMaintain ERP Technical Design and Model configuration for the allocated functionality.
*Technical Design Books
*Model Test Scripts and scenario's
*Trainers are made aware of Technical design changes (to update training material)
*Maintain a list of customisations, localisations and deviations from the Large OpCo and Small OpCo models
*Technical design of documents delivered through BI Publisher
*Technical configuration extends to integrations that use data/configuration or business rules within the scope of the responsible functionality.
*Technical configuration extends to any data/business rules used to drive reporting; watch lists and/or information delivered into the Steam Data Platform
oOwn the ERP configuration integrity (define and monitor integrity checks for Steam)
oOwn the performance of applications relating to the allocated functionality
oMonitor overall End User Experience (regular performance validation)
oEnsure design standards and naming conventions are upheld
oEnsure standard functionality is prioritised over customisation
oEnsure global processes are prioritised over localisations where applicable
oEnsure relevant stakeholders (SDT, SPO, SMES) is informed of changes to technical configuration and the change rationale
oSupport the ERP Security Design via close collaboration with the Security manager
oSupport 3rd Party applications which supports template business process as needed

*Change Management
oSupport the deployment of OPAL by effective and timely responses to technical design questions
oRespond to escalated Incidents, prioritised by ERP Technical Owner
oReview Change Requests (CR's) recommending solutions, take action where appropriate
oReview features, changes delivered by the ERP vendor through updates, sharing with the Business
oDrive the alignment & convergence of processes across Steam
oSupport Release Management process through functional testing of Steam ERP Model (this would include, but not limited to Upgrades; Disaster Recovery tests; new Releases)
oPost deployment/release lessons learnt, retrospection, streamline processes after every run.
oQuarterly overviews to business community (updates; new features; top tips)
oReview with Steam Process Owner to review performance; CR's; opportunities
oEnsure delivered changes are transitioned to Divisional Competency Centres
oPresent solution design to Global CAB or SADB and seek for approval
oOversee implementation of CRs which are approved by Steam Architecture Design Board or CAB.

*Adding value through Continuous Improvement
oMaintain a roadmap for improvements (process automation; process efficiencies)
oResearch, with appropriate Business Process Owner, ways of optimising user experience)
oDrive down level of customisations (through process change agreed with Steam Process Owners)
oBe a member of External User Community and ERP User Group
oAttend appropriate external conferences covering area of functional responsibility

oWeekly AL review meetings chaired by ERP TO
oWeekly Steam Process Owner review (Functional review meetings)
oWeekly Support team meeting to review changes resulting from issue resolution
oHalf yearly Supplier engagement sessions with Oracle to understand roadmap of JDE future enactments
oWeekly with implementation partners to review designs

Role Dimensions (Number of staff managed; budgetary responsibilities; scope of decision making)

*Direct line report to Technical Owner, who manages resource and work allocation (through a combination of Cherwell and JIRA).
*Technical Design changes reported into ERP Technical Owner (who is the ERP Technical Design Authority)
*Collaborate and communicate with:
oProject Managers; Other Technical Owners; Stakeholders within CR's;
oCore and associate team members; (3rd party vendors; software solutions; implementation leads)
oReview and validate key project plans for Change Management compliance
