A leading global pharmaceutical company are on the search for an Epidemiology Director. This role offers full remote flexibility, occasional travel for project meetings, and the option for contract extension.

Key Details:

Duration: 12 months, with the view to extend

Location: Remote (Europe)

Pay Rate: Negotiable (Outside IR35 for UK based candidates)

Travel: Occassional travel for project meetings


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute epidemiology strategies to support drug safety and risk management throughout the drug development lifecycle
  • Conduct feasibility studies and design protocols for pharmacoepidemiologic studies, including statistical analysis plans and collaboration with analytical teams
  • Identify and utilize relevant real-world data (RWD) sources, such as CPRD, to address safety research questions and generate Real-World Evidence (RWE)
  • Lead the evaluation and contextualization of safety signals, including literature reviews and epidemiological analysis
  • Support regulatory submissions and documentation, such as Risk Minimization Plans and Orphan Drug Designation applications (FDA/EMA)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with global safety, regulatory, and clinical teams to provide epidemiological expertise
  • Stay up to date with emerging methodologies and data sources to continuously improve study designs and data analysis

Your Profile:

  • PhD in Epidemiology, Pharmacoepidemiology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in epidemiology/pharmacoepidemiology, with at least 3 years within a CRO or pharmaceutical environment
  • Strong experience in executing RWE studies using real-world data sources (e.g. CPRD, claims data, EHR data)
  • Background in oncology epidemiology is highly desirable
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex data to both scientific and non-scientific stakeholders
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a multinational environment
