SEC is proud to be a global leader in the talent acquisition field, and we’ve been servicing the life science and technology sectors for over 30 years. We cover permanent and contract positions across the entire drug development cycle from discovery and development right through to commercialisation, and support a range of clients in the biotech, medtech, digital health, medical devices and pharmaceutical space.
The life science sector has never been in the spotlight as much as it has been in the last 18 months, and as such we’re emerging from the pandemic looking to expend into new geographies, service brand new markets and provide our partners unparalleled, expertise-driven talent and staffing services.
That’s where you come in.
You’ll be joining alongside a small group as part of our academy programme on July 19th, and will enter a structured learning and development programme with a number of our own industry experts and external training partners.
Our academy provides you the tools and expertise it takes to grow your own portfolio of client accounts, nurture a network of candidates in the sector, and offer solutions that lead to filling job vacancies; ultimately giving you the best foundation for a successful career as a recruitment consultant.
As a recruiter you’ll be the go-to point of contact for your client and candidate network, advising on the current job market, presenting top-tier candidates to potential employers, negotiating terms of engagement with prospective clients, scheduling interviews between the two parties and providing feedback throughout the recruitment process.
The skills for success:
There’s no one route into recruitment, and our team of consultants represent a diverse range of backgrounds, industries, and experience. That being said, here are the skills we believe make for successful recruiters.
Highly organised with an eye for detail and strong administrative skills.
Self-motivated and autonomous, but able to work with the business and team goals in mind.
Excellent interpersonal attributes including empathy, people management and problem-solving skills.
Good research abilities; you’ll be looking into prospect clients and keeping on top of industry news and market trends.
Strong communication skills; you’ll be selling our services over the phone and over email, writing compelling job ads and negotiating business terms.
Success-driven, ambitious and with a drive to succeed and develop.
Our commitment to you:
We understand that with any role it’s a two-way street, and we continually adapt our offering and promise to our employees to ensure we present a competitive offering and provide our team with a great environment to work.
Thorough and ongoing training and development from our own internal team and external industry experts; so far this year we’ve invested over £100,000 in L&D of our team.
A structured career path from day one, with clear promotion targets and no glass ceiling.
A regularly reviewed, competitive commission structure, directly linked to the revenue your placements bring.
An industry-leading annual leave allowance, starting at 5 weeks plus bank holidays and increasing with seniority and service.
Realistic targets linked to incentives and rewards; we’ve been to Cancun, Miami and Hong Kong in recent years, we’ve given away more than £50k in bonuses this year so far, and we have plenty of events on the horizon for when lockdown has eased.
Attendance at industry events and conferences across the globe.
A great location in the city, with a relaxed office culture and the ability to work flexibly.
