An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Market Access to lead pre-launch market access activities for upcoming biopharmaceutical products in the DACH region, with a primary focus on the German market. This pivotal role is part of a global organisation known for using data and advanced analytics to drive healthcare solutions, working closely with a biopharmaceutical partner focused on rare disease therapies.

The Role: As Director of Market Access, the successful candidate will play a key role in guiding pricing and reimbursement dossier development and managing the benefit assessment process for launch products. This position requires a deep understanding of AMNOG regulations and reimbursement pathways within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing strategy for Early Scientific Advice meetings, collaborating with internal and external teams to prepare submission documents and lead meetings with health authorities
  • Leading the preparation of AMNOG dossiers, including analysing clinical trial results, working with internal medical teams, and external vendors
  • Engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in dossier strategy development and supporting hearings to align with strategic objectives
  • Identifying reimbursement challenges and developing strategies for the DACH region.
  • Managing Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) and Real World Evidence (RWE) projects to support pricing strategies and value propositions
  • Building a comprehensive Market Access Strategy Plan for the DACH region, including early access opportunities and payer engagement
  • Engaging with regional payers and stakeholders to secure access and ensure adherence to agreed strategies
  • Participating in local pricing and reimbursement meetings, providing feedback to inform future strategies and sharing insights across teams
  • Ensuring launch assets meet the data and evidence requirements of payers and health technology assessment (HTA) bodies

Qualifications and Experience:

  • University degree in health economics, pharmaceutical science, healthcare management, or a related field
  • 7-10 years of experience in market access or health economics, preferably in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry
  • Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare systems and market access regulations in the DACH region, particularly Germany, with specific expertise in AMNOG regulations
  • Demonstrated experience in rare disease therapy launch preparation and commercialisation across the DACH region
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with international teams, delivering results in a fast-paced, evolving environment

  • Organised, deadline-driven, and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the DACH region
