SEC Life Sciences is working with a Major Global CRO that seeks an experienced Clinical Project Director. This is a hands-on project-orientated role suitable for a leader that enjoys working in an international matrix environment managing cross-functional teams. The individual will be a part of the Global Project leadership group consisting of approximately 500 people worldwide across all regions. This is a people project management role focused on delivery and oversight of both global/regional projects with some line management duties.

Project Directors monitor and evaluate industry and competitor initiatives, changes in policy, and technology trends that impact the industry to ensure the highest standard of delivery to the client. This position is responsible for the profitability of a project(s) or program(s), the development of the client relationship, and client satisfaction.

This role can be office based or fully home-based across the UK and EU.

- Develop and maintain a formal project plan with all key milestones, budgets, and resources assigned to specific tasks and outcomes
- Define metrics for reporting performance against plan
- Implement operational strategy as defined in the project plan and make changes to ensure desired results
- Collaborate with client and project team to proactively solve problems
- Close out of all project activities upon project completion
- Perform financial reconciliation and system closeout
- Identify potential project risks and implement contingency plans
- Establish quality standards for the project; monitor them for deliverables and implement corrective and preventative action as needed
- Owns client relationship at a study/program level and responsible for client communication ensuring high client satisfaction; seeks out opportunities to leverage the relationship for future sales
- Manage project according to budget with revenue recognition and forecasting, including resource management, pass-through management, and managing Change in Scope; handle all project invoicing activities
- Establish team goals, lead internal monthly project review meetings, ensure relevant training, ensuring consistency of Project Leaders' performance.
- Represent Project Leadership Function in external client meetings and presentations such as Bid Pursuit Meetings, Investigator Meetings, or others as required
- May include non-billable work such as SOP review and lead or contribute to other organisational initiatives

- 12+ years of clinical research experience
- Demonstrable solutions-based problem solving
- Conflict management
- Proven project management experience in healthcare, clinical research, or contract research organisation
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of budget management, resourcing, forecasting, project planning, and execution, risk and quality management
- Client focused
- Experienced in a matrix environment and cross-functional teams
- Previous CRO or Pharma Project experience highly desirable
- Basic understanding of all aspects of project life-cycle
- Familiarity with standard business and eClinical systems used in Clinical Research (CTMS, eDC, IXRS, TMF, and project planning tools)
- ICH and GCP regulations in relevant geographies
- Bachelor's degree in a science/medical related field; advanced degree desirable
- PMP or equivalent desirable
- 25%-30% either global or regional travel (after COVID)
