Scaling clinical teams of a US-based medical device company.
Our partners' journey from a modestly-sized startup to a multinational pioneer in medical devices.
Ablative Solutions, a trailblazer in hypertension technology, sought to revolutionize the medical field with their innovative products. With the crucial launch of their first EU clinical trials on the horizon, they reached out to us—looking to shape their European clinical team ahead of a trial launch in 8 months' time and seek advice on the ideal team structure.
Problems identified
Being a budding company, Ablative Solutions needed a partner that could seamlessly extend their in-house team. They required a recruitment firm with the acumen and sector-specific knowledge to source candidates, propose potential hires, and advise on team configuration.
What was at stake
With the upcoming launch of their Phase II trial and hot off the back of a major funding round, the need for an effective, specialized EU team was paramount. Failure to meet these demands could compromise their growth and the success of their groundbreaking product launch.
Strategy and approach
Implementation
The team was comprised of 13 contractors in scientific, clinical, regulatory, data management, safety, and medical writing departments, ensuring a successful Phase II trial launch, and leading us to become their exclusive partner for positions across the EU and US.
Results
Now, over a fruitful partnership spanning more than five years, we've facilitated the placement of more than 110 contract and permanent staff across 8 countries, including the US, UK and wider EU. We also manage their contract workforce's ongoing legal and regulatory requirements, with routine visa, insurance, and right-to-work checks.
